Overview / Career Prospects:
This Program prepares Students to confidently handle projects in the mechanical engineering, design and consultancy areas. Students receive intensive training and thorough skills. On completion of the Program, students acquire competency and skills to work as design engineer / mechanical engineer or draftsperson.
The need for personnel with mechanical engineering skills continues to rise not only in the manufacturing sector but in service and consultancy industries as well. In manufacturing sector alone, mechanical engineering skills are in demand in companies engaged in the production of automobiles and parts, consumer durables, machinery and equipment and metal fabrication etc. However, new immigrants, despite having necessary mechanical engineering qualifications and experience, continue to difficulty in finding jobs which relate to their background., the main reasons being lack of Canadian education and Canadian work experience.
